1620 made this top Perfect for us who don't want a hood and the high-neck collar is a Win (very New Englandish)! The fit is excellent. Great front zippered chest pocket. I can't say good enough about this piece.
I have an early Basic Work Hoodie and the Foundation full zip hoodie. Wearing the Foundation Hoodie, I don't like the weight of the hood pulling against my neck when the hood is down although having the zipper is key.
Excellent product!!! I have a few of these now and they are more than worth it!!
When I saw the price of this sweatshirt, I must admit, I balked. Pulled the trigger at the behest of my wife, knowing that I work outside, rain or shine and quality outerwear is worth its weight. When I received the package from 1620, I tore it open like a kid on Christmas. I was NOT disappointed! This is one solidly built "sweatshirt". Heavy fabrics that fends off wind stitched together by someone who gives a damn! I've repaired a lot of my own hoodies and such, but this one doesn't look like it's got any weak points. Warm enough to wear over a long sleeved shirt down into the 50's and breathable enough to wear with a t-shirt into the low 60's (your internal temps might work differently than mine). I wore it with a wool base layer into the low 40's. It's a flattering fit, wider at the shoulders and slightly tapered at the waist. A little longer in the back to keep you modest when bending over, too. Pockets are huge and deep. Chest pocket is equally large, making it easy to access my phone, even with gloves on. Haven't been caught out in the rain, but the snow bounces off like it's made of rubber. I've worn it non-stop for 2 weeks at work AND at home. It's got my wife asking when you guys are going to start a women's line...
I really enjoy wearing this pullover. The high collar is great for blocking wind when a hoodie would be inconvenient. I have two hoodies as well but they do limit visibility and are overkill in some situations. This new pullover actually feels heavier than the hoodies sans the hood and may actually be warmer. I tried it out at a recent evening baseball game around low fifties and 20 mph wind at or backs. It blocked the wind well and remained warm with the exception of the top of the collar. The fit is perfect for me with an xxl at 6’5” and 230. The sleeves are plenty long as is the overall length. The only nit that I can pick is that the bottom hem has a tendency to curl up. Again, great product and I am very happy with the purchase.
I ordered a few, one for a gift and two for me. The black one I gave away and it was extremely well-received. My son wouldn’t stop talking about it.
As far as my opinion, this is an excellent garment. Well made in the USA of excellent domestic materials. It is versatile in that it can be paired with other garments as a layer. It is also attractive as a standalone overshirt useful, and the pockets are well executed. I haven’t taken them off since I got them. The boys really hit it out the park on this one.
